Pennsylvania NOW PAC uses money raised through its Political Action Committee to help support candidates running for state and local offices. Contributions made to the PAC are not tax deductible. Please also check out the list of endorsed candidates.
history
Pennsylvania NOW was formed in 1971 after many local NOW chapters had already formed across the state. The need for a state organization grew out of organizing efforts to pass an Equal Rights Amendment to the Pennsylvania Constitution.
Today PA NOW remains a grassroots, non-profit, volunteer organization with over 9,000 members and 30 chapters statewide. We belong to the National Organization for Women based in Washington, DC which has over 500,000 members. NOW members are women and men, young and old, all colors, classes and backgrounds, working together to bring about equal rights for all women.
